hi, my name's ocean. i'm 28 & i've been doing zines since i was fourteen years old. zines used to be a lifeline, a bloodpumping reason to get up in the morning. now, they're just something fun i do. a way to document, to get my voice out there, to preserve my stories in a semi-concrete way while they're still here. my favorite zines are personal, queer, sarcastic, sassy. i have a soft spot for lo-fi, typewriters-and-rubber-stamps messes.
i have been publishing under the title "high on burning photographs" for about three years. i also just released the zine "it's not the end of the world!: building a life with limp wrists" which is suggestions on managing carpal tunnel, aimed at a more working-class sufferer (as much mainstream literature on the subject is aimed towards office-dwellers).
a new issue of "high on burning photographs" is out now! check out my blog, below.

i live in pittsburgh, i'm tall & stompy, my hair is always a mess (even when it's a wig!), i'm from long island ny, i'm writing a book, i am completely untalented at cooking potatoes, i am oddly good at vegan baking (and i'm not even vegan!), i like long walks punctuated by witty graffiti.
