-----------------------✂---------------------------------------

Hey, I'm Giz from Beausoleil, FR
I'm in punk and zines, both since 2003, but it became a most important part in my life in 2005 when I start to help les Maskes feuillus, local not-for-profit show promoter and their zine Neurones, wich end with the 20th issue the year after that. I only wrote some review on the last issue but I help to fold and staple it on my friends kitchen since the 18th. Now, I'm living in Beausoleil a tiny french ghetto above Monaco, next to one of the famous palace of the early XX century. an "historic" neighborhood. I'm a student in Nice, FR, so I take the bus every morning, and save this time to read a lot of zines (and books).

I also enjoy volunteering at the Volume, the local no-benefit venue, booking folk, punk or hardcore shows around, making music with my friends in my folk-punk project (xtramedium) and making cut-and-paste stuff for flyers, covers, booklet and zines. My on-going zine is called Cheaptoys, its more like a perzine because I do not focuse on a specific topic, but the things I'm fan of. typewriter, outmoded stuff, thrash glued on paper, black & white photocopier.

I do love trading my zines and record, getting mail in the box is one of my favorite time of the day. you can find my zines on Rising dead boys', Jardin des fous, Desertion records , plus que des mots .

2006 Neurones #19 : B/W music focused zine by les Maskes feuillus.

hey! I just wanted to let you know I got your zine, though I can't really comment on any of it yet... it's going to take me quite a while to decipher the whole thing. but thanks so much, I like it visually, and it's great to have something so fun to practice with!! :D

Pre-Photoshop I used two methods: For photocopying there was usually a photo option that did a line screen type of half-tone for you. Only you couldn't do the whole zine in it or the writing would look bad. So I'd do a page full of the photos I'd ...

mini-books, an awesome way to read things

publisching is a business... blablabla. ok. but I do love mini-books, as mini-zines, and especially the heavy-loaded ones. quarter-size, A6. I'm thinking about writing a fan-zine about a mini-books/zines, and la petite collection from Mille-et-une-nuits publishing. this series is inspired by the italian millelire, and use to provide 10francs books since 1993 (who cares with euro now ?). that will be a fan-zine devoted to the story of this little cheap books, in italy, in france ,an… Continue

Awesome evening in Aix-en-provence

I already wrote few pages in Cheaptoys #2 about la Fanzinothèque birthday party, and a lot of people could count it better than me, but last week-end was really awesome, and not so far away (from me !). Mort-né fanzine from Aix (south of france) put out an event with all the artist from the zines, in the Baba's bar.
