About me

Hullo,

My name is Steve Larder and I write/draw a zine called 'Rum Lad'.

I'm 24 years old and currently live in Nottingham, UK. When I'm not drawing, I play guitar in a band called Moloch. we've got a s/t 10" and will soon be releasing a 12" split with New Orleans' very own 'Thou'.

Thank you for the kind words. This really is a small world! I've known Emma for a few years now, I love her zines/comics. Oddly enough, after I'd known her for quite a while, I discovered that one of my "real-life" friends in my small hometown was also her online friend, though they didn't meet through zines. Very strange.

Anyway, I couldn't help it, I added your photo to my my blog. Too funny!

Ah, yes! I forgot to let you know, but it came in the mail a few days ago. So awesome! I particularly enjoyed the interview with Marv of Gadgie - of course, I'd never heard of him before, but I'm something of a small-town enthusiast, and I think it's really important to document small-town goings-on, so I really liked reading about that whole punk scene. Holy run-on sentence and dashes! Also, it was cool to read about the zine fest in Germany and see that tiny cartoon of Lizzy - I met her in Toronto! She's quite the world traveller, huh? And of course I love your drawings, you've got a style all your own. If you ever reprint issues 1 and 2, lemme know. I'm going to include a tiny review of Rum Lad #4 in my next zine, so I'll send a copy your way when it's ready.
