Nope, the Flow Chronicles was "all-new" and not a collection of Hermitt's zines.

Last I heard, Slug and Lettuce was on hiatus because Chris Boarts-Larson (editor) had a baby. The last one that came out (if I remember correctly) was late 2006, where Chris announced it. Love to see a new issue!

Amy- http://wemakezines.ning.com/profile/Zac As for your parents reaction, you're the best judge as to how they might handle your involvement with zines and getting stuff through the mail. If they're the type that are overly worried by internet p...

And that's the slippery slope. Do your parents know what a zine is, and the fact that you do one? Are they cool with it? If they're not, having a PO Box may mean that they don't find out about what you're doing. If they are cool with what you do...

If you use a pen name or give yourself a "punk rock" last name they're less likely to find you that way. And using a P O Box would make an even bigger disconnect, if you're worried about people finding you.

$30 isn't bad for six months at a PO Box, especially since it breaks down to $5 a month. Whether it's "worth it" or not depends on what you want out of it. I find PO Boxes worth it for a few reasons. One, it makes you less wary about putting your...

Amy, are you talking about an official government USPS P O Box (if yer in the US), or are you talking about a "Private Mail Box" (PMB) that are in UPS Stores, Postal Annex, and the like? $20-30 per month sounds a tad high for a P O Box.

Profile Information

Haling from the diminutive State Of Connecticut and now a Citizen of Portland, Oregon, Cascadia, I am currently a "freelance artist" (aka penniless bohemian that occasionally draws.) But don't worry, I have a day job that pays the bills. When you are staying at the HI-Portland Hawthorne Hostel if you ever come to Portland (and why the hell would you ever visit Portland?) make sure you say "hi".

I've been drawing the mini-comic TEN FOOT RULE in some form or another since 1996 (though the first issue didn't come out until summer of 1997), so I guess that makes me "old-school". I also put out the comic anthology MODERN INDUSTRY (2000-1), edit the ZINESTER'S GUIDE TO PORTLAND, put out local Portland history/geography zines under the banner of URBAN ADVENTURE LEAGUE, and have contributed comics, illustrations, and writings to a multitude of zines and independent publications over the years. You can check out my regular bi-monthly comic for MOMENTUM MAGAZINE, a cool free magazine documenting bicycle culture around the world. I also do a crapload of flyers and illustrations for various projects in Portland and around the world. And I have been a staffer at the INDEPENDENT PUBLISHING RESOURCE CENTER (IPRC) since 2001.

I like riding my bike aimlessly around the city, bike touring, learning about urban environment, eating burritos, and drinking way too much coffee. I'm REALLY in to community-oriented collaborative type projects. And despite what you may have heard, I don't bite.

You can check out my artwork on my sito page.

Oh yeah, I love zines! And I like trading! And I love actual letters more so than emails and "comment walls". So if you are so inclined, write:

New Comics! And Zines!

Hey y'all, sometimes I'm so bad at self promotion that I forget to tell people that I have new stuff! So here's the latest:

NOBODY USES AN UMBRELLA IN PORTLAND: Yet another installment in my series of journal-comix, this one documents my life in the Winter of 2009. Work stuff, travelling (Cali! Canada!) and even a bit o' romance. It's $2 POST-PAID.

CYCLE TOURING PRIMER: This is a guide for those who are curious about, or are intending to do a self-supported bicycle tour. Covers the basics: how… Continue

The rumors of me moving back to Portland are unfounded. However, I will be visiting around Thanksgiving. I get in late Tuesday night and leave Sunday afternoon. We should meet up some time between that.

Oh, yeah! That's some old stuff. I'm going to get information up about how to get new stuff ASAP. Currently, I have one comic available "The Day After V-day" on my site, you can find that in the comics section with a link to purchase via pay-pal at the bottom of the page: http://8et8.net/

It depends on what you already have, I guess. I really have to get my store up. But, in the next month I'm putting out a few new things for different events. I'll definitely have some information about them here and on my website/blog.

Thanks for taking an interest!

Hello friend of Sticky. If you have made a zine recently, are still reprinting old copies of a zine, have old copies lying around or are thinking of making zine, we want you to stock it with us! If you haven't stocked with us before, here's how you do it. Visit our website (www.stickyinstitute.com) and download a stockists form. Fill it out and send it with up to ten copies of your zine to Sticky, P.O. Box 310, Flinders Lane, VIC 8009. We have them on the shelves for 6 months at which time, if they've sold out we'll pay you and if they haven't totally sold out we'll pay you for the copies you have sold and send the remaining copies back to you or donate them to the Exchange Box. To those of you have stocked with us previously, keep sending us your zines! Zine culture is alive and kicking in Australia and Sticky is an ardent defender of zine culture!
Love from Sticky!
