I make one off zines/art books/sequential art.
I've got a (wordless) graphic novel coming out in April 2010 (!!!) called Wanderlust
, that was done entirely in wood engraving prints (similar to linocuts, but with finer detail).
I wrote a zine for kids called Being Gay is A-ok!
about how it's not cool to use the word gay to describe things that suck, cause being gay is totally fine.
I made a collaborative artsy-comicky zine with my co-conspirator Amanda Bowles (that is also a colouring book) called An Alphabetic Compendium of Demons and Evil Ghosts
I made a little art/politicomic called WATCHING YOU
that is a bit abstract but is about police surveillance in poor neighbourhoods in Toronto.
The first l'il zine I made was called High School Sucks
and was a perzine that doubled as a how-to/survival guide for highschoolers havin' a rough time and getting bullied (as I did myself in high school).
Feminist, anarchist, queer, disabled, mental health zines interest me, mostly. And COMICS, big time!
I like doing trades and collaborating-- A LOT! I also like writing letters and getting mail and stuff. I also table most of the zine fests around Toronto and travel to other places when I can.
You can see a bunch of my art/work-- both zines and otherwise-- on my website, meganspeers.com
