I have been zining for so many years it's hard to keep track anymore. I did my first zine when i was in 6th grade (if i remember correctly). I think that would have been like 1987. I didn't start "seriously" zining until 1994 when I hooked up with a friend and friends of that friends do to a zine called Throat Culture. That zine lasted a few years, but I got bored waiting for the other guys to finish up their parts of the zine, so i started doing Resist sometime shortly after that. I've been doing that ever since.

Resist is basically about my life. I'm pretty passionate about bicycling and gardening so i write a lot about those two things. I have two kids, so I write about parenting & home/unschooling. I do some "political" writing once in a while. I'm a homeowner, so I sometimes pass along stories about that. I like to write stories. I try to pass along helpful information through my stories, but I'm basically a story writer. I always try to include some DIY projects. It's kind of a mix of stories and "how to." This last issue it was building a bicycle trailer and seed saving (and a lot of stories about riding bicycles.)

Lately I've been working on a DIY book. It's been about a year and a half, and I have gotten a ton of projects done that I have been meaning to get done for a long time. I'm actually sending the completed book to Microcosm today. I'm looking forward to spending some time playing music and not having a book deadline looming over me. I loved writing the book, but I'm ready for something different. Lately one thing I really enjoy is building musical instruments. I plan to spend some time this winter playing them.
