We Are Sharks.
My name is Marla Raine. I'm 17 years old and impatiently awaiting graduation from my private high school in May of this year. I write so much it's ridiculous. University seems to be in my future, but I'm also involved in the local music scene and the collective house located the next town over. I live to dream and dream to live. My activism is my life. I'm not afraid to rally for something I believe in and it gets me in trouble most times. My life is adventurous and reckless, and I have little regrets. :D
Currently laying out the first issue of my perzine, We Are Sharks. (which is also my first full-length zine.) This debut issue features poetry, a short monologue series, and rants about my relationship with my mother, painful memories, and my boyfriend, Connor. It's really just what I felt like writing. I'm proud of what I have, and I'm excited to finish laying it out to see what it looks like all copied and bound! Wish me luck; I'm new in the zine world and wouldn't mind some feedback once I get pictures put up.
I write and draw mini-zines in my spare time, many of which have disappeared into the cracks between couch cushions and my friends' backpacks. Last night's funny little creation is titled: "SHIT SUCKS. WTF Are You Gonna Do About It?" Pictures will be posted soon.
That's pretty much it for my growing obsession with zine-making. Toodles till later. :]
