Sheridan Zine Library
Hello there! I run the Sheridan Zine Library in Oakville, Ontario (we are always looking for donations!) and I ran the Welland Zine Library for about 3 years, and helped set up the OCAD zine library in Toronto. I also run a bi-weekly zine culture/workshop/community group called the Sheridan Self Publishers. We do fun things like go to zine fairs, work on group zines, put on fundraisers for the zine library etc. etc. etc. We will be having a zine fair in Oakville on February 12 and 13 from 12- 5 pm. If your in the area and are interested in being a vendor let me know!
I have been making zines for about 8 years. Old titles include: How to Start a Revolution (10 issues), Tiki Girl Without a Cause (6 issues, now an anthology), Visual Thought (5 issues), Escaping Suburbia (6 issues), Thinking in Thailand (4 issues), and a bunch of one offs (Creatures of the Deep, Beginnings, Everything Else, Summer in the Suburbs)
More recent/still in print zines include: Sketchbag (an art zine), Asante Sana (travel zine from Tanzania), Art School, Love Letters (a visual love letter), Between Homes (most recent, a tale of moving and falling in love),Poetree (a small poetry zine), and Everything (a visual dictionary of my life).
Also available is On the Cusp #1 - the Sheridan Self Publishers group zine
Current goals include developing a zine culture lesson plan to teach at an arts college one day, and making the Sheridan Zine Library grow and prosper exponentially.
