Robert! I got your wonderful letter and wonderful zine! I've started a letter but I have to post something to you first and I suspect I'll just stick it in a zine and it will be o.k. . . . I've never mailed something like this before! It's a 100 dollar bill I found in the middle of you Absolutely Zippo! So watch for a Wiseblood coming to you . . . it will have a 100 bucks in it. Another letter will be coming sometime soon.
Right on Eggplant! I'll put a package together. I got lots and lots and lots (well thousands!) of records . . . is there anything you have on a wishlist? Otherwise I'm just gonna randomly pull down 45's and put them on a tapes.
so today I visited this 2 places (one is the bookstore listed in the organizer) that possibly are interested in carrying the Slingshot paper (and maybe the agenda? they have to discuss). for now if you could send me some Slingshots it would be great! Do they cost money if the shipping is overseas? Hey here everyone speaks English so I see it very easy to distribute-- let me know-- My new address is...drumroll... Francesca
Yesterday they were talking about a movie at the Roxie on KPFA and I could follow the description on the actual flyer/calendar that I have...that was figo.
I brought all the junk from Calif. with me on this crazy trip. And old Zippos and...Asswipe.
So now I'm writing from Germany (yr places)-- I just got the address of my PO Box and I'm really excited about writing you a letter whenever I'll be in Utrecht.
How about my review for...Yogurt Brain's tape!? If that's ok; as soon as I kidnap someone in Utrecht to help me understand some lyrics maybe, ughh.
I really appreciate bands where you can understand the lyrics (X,the Go Go's) or where the lyrics are printed (Crimpshrine),I think...
I miss Berkeley so much, especially at night and weird hours where I should be sleeping; but my heart can feel closer to there whenever I spend time reading a cool zine,a book, listening to music,or just avoid the Internet/mainstream
Hey! I got the issue of Slingshot--thanks! I'm so impressed that your publication has been in existence for 25 years, and really grateful that you maintain a venue for these voices (I liked, for instance, the analysis of 'cis'). And I liked the historical stuff too! In that context, I'm really pleased that you included a review of Shards in there, and that you spoke well of it. Thanks so much for introducing me to Slingshot, and for the review! :-D
Student toss-outs! I lived near an apartment house with a ton of engineering students growing up, and we'd get so much cool stuff at move-out time.
Thank you for reviewing Shards! I look forward to reading your next issue. Not just for the review, but because it's awesome! And thanks for participating in Zines for Troops. I suggest sending 1-3 copies of whichever issues you wish to send, and then they'll go out in a few different shipments. Or just do whatever. Hey--I can't remember which issues of Shards I sent you. If you remember, will you let me know? And then I'll send you a few different ones. I didn't remember to write it down.
Hey there Eggplant! I absolutely love Absolutely Zippo, and I'm wondering if you want to participate in my volunteer project, Zines for Troops! I'm collecting zines and sending them to military members and injured veterans. You could donate however many issues of Absolutely Zippo, or even make space for some new zines by sending some of your old ones. If you donate, you'll be placed on the Honor Roll, and I'll send you two custom 1" buttons. All the info is here: http://wemakezines.ning.com/profiles/blogs/zines-for-troops-donations-needed
Thanks for considering a donation! No obligation--I just think your zine is great and I would love to distribute it to some people who need to chill out!
