Student toss-outs! I lived near an apartment house with a ton of engineering students growing up, and we'd get so much cool stuff at move-out time.
Thank you for reviewing Shards! I look forward to reading your next issue. Not just for the review, but because it's awesome! And thanks for participating in Zines for Troops. I suggest sending 1-3 copies of whichever issues you wish to send, and then they'll go out in a few different shipments. Or just do whatever. Hey--I can't remember which issues of Shards I sent you. If you remember, will you let me know? And then I'll send you a few different ones. I didn't remember to write it down.
Hey there Eggplant! I absolutely love Absolutely Zippo, and I'm wondering if you want to participate in my volunteer project, Zines for Troops! I'm collecting zines and sending them to military members and injured veterans. You could donate however many issues of Absolutely Zippo, or even make space for some new zines by sending some of your old ones. If you donate, you'll be placed on the Honor Roll, and I'll send you two custom 1" buttons. All the info is here: http://wemakezines.ning.com/profiles/blogs/zines-for-troops-donations-needed
Thanks for considering a donation! No obligation--I just think your zine is great and I would love to distribute it to some people who need to chill out!
BTW after that show, I started to like our current name when someone kept yelling it out and wanted to ask if you started to like it too. But I guess we can talk about that in person...ha.
Hey, thanks for sending Absolutely Zippo and Road Most Traveled! You made the local music scene of then and now come alive. Really enjoyed reading them. I'm going to make a "Favorite Zines" stack in my zine collection, and the punk flyers issue of Absolutely Zippo is going in it. No foolin'! I was impressed with the range and humor! Tell me which issue(s) of Shards you have and I'll send you some ones you don't have.
Yes, would love to hear your feedback! Believe it or not, Shards #9 is now published as well. Make sure to message me your postal address if you want a copy. Happy Spring back, it's been a long, cold So Cal winter. :) (I'm partly serious!)
Hi Robert! Thanks for the nice comment about Shards #6. I'm glad you liked it! Let me know if you'd like my most recent, #8, and I'll drop a copy in the mail for you. And if you have anything you'd like to share, I'd love to read it!
Congrats on amassing a big zine library. I have a growing collection, but it still fits in some bins. I'm guessing I'll keep collecting and wake up one day and say, "Wow, I have a zine library. How did that happen?"
yeah I got your package...your name written with thick marker was sitting vertically above all the mailboxes, watching my neighbors passing, until I came home and rescued it. Too bad I know from the tracking that my letter in response is stuck in Milan from over 2 weeks.
For all those that don't have the right connections to get to know stuff (as I do): my birthday is on May 17…....
Funny, I was just thinking about our skits last night. We should meet up soon for that, I like George Carlin a lot and I like Mitch Hedberg, but he has perfect timing and thats something I really need to work on. What kind of booze do you think George Carlin drank while he wrote comedy? I'm thinking scotch.
Hey! Roberto Eggplanto Parmesiano uses the internet! Who knew? That's funny you recognize that book in the photo.
Yeah, she did ask me to write...uh, something. I forgot what the topic was supposed to be about! Shoot.
I meant to give you a copy of the zine before I left. I'm in Newawlins now, soaking up the intermittent warmth and swimming in heated pools. Be back in Oakland in a couple weeks.

Hey Eggy, I hope I get the new zippo in the mail. I kind of want to come in person for the next issue of slingshot cuz it just hasn't been working out to try to coordinate illustration by email. Oh ya but the main reason I'm on WMZ right now is to tell you I'll be at a show at Gilman tomorrow.
