Will send you mail when I have finished On A Sugar High issue two (which should be soon since I got back from holiday with some more things to write about)
Sofia, THAAAAANNNKK YOU so much for my very first zine review! I'm really glad that you liked it. Thank you so much for taking the time to write some positive words. I don't know if I will be doing zine reviews in the future, but if I do, I"ll include Weatherfield.
Thanks so much for the compliments. I totally agree about the anti-rave hysteria & the grammar nazi rant. Of course, the anti-rave hype by this person (I'm at the library & away from your zine right now) is just one the tip of the propaganda ice-berg about 1 million "epidemics" and "crises" clamored about on the 6 O'Clock news and everywhere else.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say I was in the 7 to 9 range as a standard English purist, but I totally agree it'd ridiculous & rude to put down people whose English may not be as good as mine, even to "gently correct them" is obnoxious. I'm very interested in English/language & I'm putting together some zine back issues for you with my thoughts about it (Don't worry, they're short). I joined the American Dialect Society listserv, but it's much too hard for me to navigate/get through, so I seldom try anymore. I'd love an APA on language/grammar/usage/semanitcs, but failing that, even a forum with a structure doesn't totally confuse me would be welcome. I've slowly developed some competence with Yahoo.
Anyway, I'll send you those zines. You can read and/or comment if you like to, no obligation.
Glad you got my zine...and even more stoked about all of the kind words you left. :) Thank you for the glowing review that you included. Very appreciative! I hope that we can do more trades in the future!
I got your zine in, and I absolutely love it! It is so fun and random, with a great sense of humor (that reminds me very much of my own. BONUS POINTS!!) that really drives the zine home. Wonderfully done, Kari!
Hey I would love to trade for an issue of Shards of Glass in Your Eye! I have a zine called Printaissance and there are three issues available that you can choose from. Let me know what issue you would like and you can email me at angryhippie@arbent.net if you are interested! :)
