A long time ago, like 15 years, a baby zinester found your zines and loved them and wrote you letters (as was the way at the time) and sent you terrible, embarrassingly bad early zines of her own. And you didn't laugh at them, but instead encouraged her and treated her like a real person when no one else really did, and that meant so much.And you got me into other great zines and connected me with other neat zine people through the mail while I was totally isolated in my small town. And guess what? she got older, made more zines, and eventually did get a lot better. And probably would have given up early on without that encouragement from an incredibly talented, established zinester and art-prankster.
so, here I am! hurray!
And you are still one of the best zinesters and comic artists I've ever come across, and believe me I've collected thousands over the past 15 or so years. I'll never forget what you did when I was a fledgling, when you so didn't have to, and it's inspired me in the zine workshops I do and interactions I have with young people who are creative.
