Just found an article at the Seattle Free Press published yesterday about Microcosm (and Joe). I'm on my phone, which won't let me paste here for some reason. Also, I wanted to add that they used a mediator who also writes zines--most folks don't make a living with the zines, as you likely know. Anyway, I hope you find the article and find it helpful.
You just commented on a post I wrote over two years ago (!) about Joe Biel and Microcosm. There have been a bunch of articles since my post, one new one just about a week ago. Everyone who worked with Joe at Microcosm in Portland (with Alex) has since come out with their own stories of emotional abuse and a cult-like organization. So, don't base your views on a two-year old blog post. Google. You'll find plenty of more recent info.
Hey Madness? I want to trade you my new stuff for your most recent stuff--2 of mine for 1 of yours, since mine is not a quality visual artistic. But. . .I am that jerk who loses addresses. What is yours again? Thanks!
Thanks for the awesome comics! I just got them but am already so jazzed about how cool they look. And how gross some of it is. :) I will send you some issues of Shards in return! I'm not home to fix you an envelope right away so bug me if you don't get them within a couple weeks. Thanks again!
