probably hard to work when it is
soooooooooooooooooo
muggy w/ all your rain/heat)!!!

my cardiac DOC gave good news...my heart
has repaired itself entirely!!!...in 3 mos!!!
she said, 'you dodged a bullet'
I said, 'i owe it to the emergency room crew

organized...well...an ol'
teacher ya know :):)

usta pity my fellow teachers w/
messy desks..................spent
half their time
finding/losing
......................missed out of a lot
of teaching...that way...
i once wrote an article on how many
actual hours a teacher has for
TEACHING...the article was
titled..."Ninety"...
( the # of hours in a 90-day semester)...
but the teaching time actually came to
about 67 hours...in
90 days...

soo the orgainzed nature slops over
into retirement...:):)

very nice page format and explanation of what
you are doing...
the pic on my page shows the
cubby-hole arrangement...
the old 'puter desk in the foreground...and
the NE window light...
so that's my workspace...:)

wow! that is wee
alex...the spaceman...:)?
cute lil' booger...:)

um..., ORDER...i have 9 cubbyholes and a
four-drawer desk...and then another old
computer desk adjacent for all
my stuff...(and a 2-drawwer file under that...
ya know..., those wooden files that were
on sale at wal-mart a few years ago...$29.00
and you put 'em together)!!

uummm...just had a WONDER as why i have it
that way...??? discovering things about myself
is interesting...bet it is because i was a teacher
for 20 years...and had to keep everything in a
4-drawer file...and a wooden cupboard...while
teaching four different
kinds of english daily...and then often
switching to four other kinds
of english...the 2nd quarter...and so on...
so can't be toooooooo much of a packrat, and
what i guess i'm in the habit of doing is
letting the cubbyholes and drawers fill up...
then winnowing them out
to friends ...i used to have over
3,000 books in a personal library...but am
down to my
favorite 200!!!
over 100 paperback mysteries...british mysteries...
and 100 reference kind of TOMES...:):)
but i go to the library every week...and use
the REALLY GROWING
literature to be found on the internet)

mini-zine though...for you w/ all the
mommy chores...might be a way to
do
everything...draw/story/review/thoughts...and
then weave them into longer/bigger issues...

our two boys big and out on their own though...does
allow us to keep whatever we have at 'table-level'
haha
scrapbooks though are a good
way to keep favorites...will send a
pic of my cubbyholes though 'cause
they are mostly 'child-safe...:):)and built
right into the wall

have a super week...i like the 2-tone color
of your
page...i should work on my zine page...
such a lazy booger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha

oh yes...irwin
that was it...thanks...haha

i have a zine friend in OZ (as they call it)
phil segrott...in woy woy...he does
your
full-size
8.5x11
and i will send it
along...after giving it another
...slower...read...

i always read
the zines i get times...the 1st cursory
('cause i get a lot of daily mail....i mainly
do
mail-art....and have only got back to
zines...since DEC 2008); and then
a 2nd
time very thoroughly...and then a liesurely 3rd....'cause
i know i will be letting it go to
someone who is building
a zine library....not the
big zine libraries...(i wrote an essay on that
several years ago), but a wee one
or
two...and i try to pick a place out in the
tules...hinterland...haha...so that
the library is passed
round
the immediate area

when i ed/pub my own poetry zine...Muse of Fire...i had
hundreds of underground and alternate lit
zines............and scores and scores more were sent for me to review....but after falling
ill...2001...i had to give all
of it up.................'cause of OPS and chemo
and suggestions of DOCS etcetera.........
so i just don't collect a PILE
anymore...i do keep
my
FAV
mail art............. and zines...but do try to
keep the pile down to a BIG BOX...haha);...
and sold all my own publications...42 of 'em,
if i recall to
BROWN UNIVERSITY....
'cause they have a serious
SERIAL
and
ALTERNATE LIT
collection there...that has archival standards and all...

soooooooooooooo, that is how
i read
zines...:):)

the BIG zine would be hard to put out quarterly...yes...
as you value daily living in that
good way
mixing 'art' and 'loving/playing/teaching
your little
kiddies.....................but i
do think you could do a
one-pager...maybe just have the
folded sheet on a
SAFE tABLE...haha...in the house
where you could glue and paste and draw
and write and assemble diverse doo-dads as
they pop up
during the day..............that will be the
way i'll have to do mine.............find that
SAFE CORNER 1st...haha...where glue/scissors/
bits of paper will stay undisturbed until i've decided what
to do w/ 'em)

sooooooooooooooo if
ye canna
do the 'quarterly'...i hope
you do a more frequent
one-pager........................what you
write/create
is worth reading...:):)

super weekend

ok...keeping the one w/
yr
poem...need the
one w/ the photo...

an envelope on its way to you
too...
mailed FRI...so let's see
if it
gets there by WEDN...(6th day)
or THUR...(7th)...

lemme know...:)

are you gonna try to make Gestalt
a quarterly???
I'm thinking that a one-page zine
(folded twice...8 'sides') can be a
monthly...i might try that
once i get summer
dental work out of the way....

do a kind of
eclectic
one-pager...

have a good weekend

oh, the AZ
snake-friend...happy you
were not taking chances...

kinda dangerous stuff...and where
things just happen....'accidentally'...!!

like that australian
fellow...i really liked watching his
shows...steve....somebody...
@ any rate
he made that
SOPHOMORIC
mistake in
swimming
ACROSS...!!!
a sting ray....
boy-oh-boy...

he was a wonderful EXPERT...but that
sometimes makes one
too
relaxed....................which was
the sad case there...

happy you like snakes and are comfortable round 'em...
but they are
WILD
animals................in the truest sense of the word...:)

little ones on to
chloe rambo...who is building
a
zine library...

so happy to get others...i am sending you
some little zines too...
(which i thought were pretty clever)
this day...'cause you will make good
use of their
ideas...:)...absorbing them into
your 'universe' of possibility...

um...2 root canals...pretty
OUCH-Y!!!!!!
and i am still taking pain pills which
i don't like to do but
have to just now...:)

we will forge our way through it...

FL
sounds pretty joyous...
oh...!!!and the snakes....
shiver/shiver

no poisonous ones here...just olympic
garter snakes...and a kind off 'farm' snake...
not a bull snake, but i think
a gopher snake...

the rattlers are E
of the Cascades...

In AZ...as an Exploer Scout
i steppeed over a baby rattler...only a 'button'
on it...
still...i jumped
36' off the ground...:):):)

blessed day for you

ECLECTIC,,,
poem here.drawing there.clipart...
one reason i like the
wee drawings of your little
kids...

even when the zine-content is
'serious'...i think that
day-to-day
humanity should
move through...

sunburn...vinegar, i guess...and
peeling
(probably)

when as a kid
i moved from chicago to
phoenix...in JAN 1958...
i did not wear a jacket at all that
1st winter...we become acclimatized...:)

um...oh, wanted to mention...there are so
many
self-adhesive
stamps anymore that i do not put them
in a bowl of warm water to take the stamp off
the paper envelope...

it's the 'standard' practice, but i think it
'degrades' the colors...regardless of what the 'experts' say...

sooooooo, i anymore just trim the stamp very close
to...but not damaging the perforations...it's called
'selvage'...
and glue 'em down...:)...mint stamps go
into wee plastic 'covers'...i send
samples next letter...:)

many collectors still do the old warm-water method...
but i just don't see the point...:):)

okay...hope you are having fun working on your new
zine.............
i should have a
new one by
JULY 4th...:):)

take care

b-day...and springs were fun...
yes, our kids are
techno-savvy....dunno
whether it's good or bad...

my youngest son does texting and
ZIPS through about
150 e-mails
from his work...
where he has 6-7 computers...
(operations mgr. for a
pop/beer/wine distribution
business)

all that techno is fairly
GREEK
to me... wife tutors me on the
buttons to push and
NOT PUSH
on the computerhahahaha
(last of the pencil-paper generation)
:):)

let me know how alex reacts to
'stamp collecting'
whenever you decide to 'tutor' him...:)

teen-age years...well..., just practice
'biting your tongue'
hahahaha

space stamps to get

WANES...well then, he can give his
childhood stamp collection to the
smithsonian...like john lennon
did...
and go on to other things...haha!!

and if he still enjoys in six
mos.
i can send more

i can collect thousands for
under 25 cents each...:)

(i've yet to hit the $10.00 each stamps...and
those that go for $10,000-$25,000 i'll never
hit...!!)
