Hi Karin,

I live in Australia, so I probably can't be much help to your research, particularly as teaching comics is a sporadic thing for me, but i can offer to post you the publication created at the end of my last lot of zine teaching.

The book collects examples of each of the 64 students' work as well as the broad lesson plan i developed. It was intended that the book would be used as a teacher's resource. The book and the workshops were co-funded by the state education department and the state Arts body.

Thanks for sending Two Boats. I enjoyed reading it. My favorite poem in the collection is "River Road." It is beautiful in its description of place.

What did you think of the ghost companion poet assignment? It seems a little far out to me, but I wonder if you found it helpful or at least interesting or just a pain in the neck.

I think it's awesome that you made a zine out of a writing assignment for school. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Hey There Louisiana woman!

I'm from Lafayette, grew up there and spent my young adulthood in New Orleans. I'm in Lawrence, KS now, about to move to Portland, OR.

So glad to see Louisiana represented here!

Your poetry zine sounds cool! Would you be interested in trading a copy of it for one or more of my poetry zines?
