We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Hola,

I haven't posted here much; I'm a lazy lazy man. I've been putting out the zine The Inner Swine since 1995. (www.innerswine.com)

1995. Damn, I'm an old man, too.

Wanted to mention that I just put the latest issue up as an Amazon Kindle title. 99 cents. I figure I'll do this for all future issues. I set it up for unlimited lending as well.

Anyone else have any experience putting a zine out on Kindle? Any advice?

Here's the link if anyone's interested:

Whatever works! Even if it's ramshackle-tasticness.

Frank - well, that's why I kept the formatting and spellchecking to a minimum! The kindle version has a very fuzy, ramshackle feel, I think.

That's pretty cool, Jeff. As you know, I have The Whirligig's 3-9 issues available as an e-book, including in MOBI (Kindle) format. I'll also get it up on Amazon shortly.

I think it'd be interesting to see how many zinesters cross over into the new medium. On the one hand, it's great distro and a new way to reach readers. On the other hand, it takes away some of the enjoyable "cut and paste" textile-type joy from zining.
