We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

heya! Im working for the artist run centre Definitely Superior Art Gallery in Thunder Bay ont. [www.definitelysuperior.com]

We are Northwestern Ontario's artist-run-centre for the contemporary arts, presenting 50+ exhibitions, events, and activities each year. We have been here for 20+ years and operate as a distinct alternative to public and commercial art galleries. We are developing Thunder Bay's first and only comprehensive ZINE LIBRARY to the best of our abilities and budgets, and hope to add your kickin works to the collection.
Please email us with your available titles, prices and response. Do consider donating a copy of one of your works, as the gallery is non-profit and has great exposure with a viewing audience of over 18,000 each year. Our current library is in a central location and open to all visitors during gallery hours. We lend publications out to gallery members only (over 200 members), but allow general public to hangout and read at their leisure. The gallery is dedicated to connecting the public with artist's; we will provide email addresses to interested buyers so that they may purchase your work.

Please consider mailing us a copy(ies) of your zine for our library and be exposed in the North!

*NOTE
The gallery has been publishing its own zines for years,
[Core- poetry zine in its 8th publication]
[Notes from the Wasteland- artzine in its 4th]
and new this year
[Die Active- artzine & art collective, to be published August 09]

Definitely Superior Art Gallery sounds AWESOME, as does the zine library. I am involved with a similar (but much newer and smaller) community run grassroots art space in Lawrence, Kansas. It's called The Percolator. You can read about it here http://www.lcava.org/.

I would love to know more about how the Definitely Superior Art Gallery operates and what kind of events y'all have.

I would also be thrilled to send my zines for the zine library. Do y'all just want my poetry zines, (as they are arts related), or do y'all want any and all zines? I would be happy to send both kinds. Please let me know.

I am going to send you a friend request.
