WMZ art quiz - test your art smarts and good luck this week

The answer to, and winner (if any) for, our last contest question of:
This astronomical discovery, one of the biggest scientific discoveries of the last century, wasn't first announced in a scientific journal like almost all big discoveries, but in the NYT in the November 23, 1924 paper.
Name this big discovery and it's discoverer.
The discovery of galaxies beyond the Milky Way by Edwin Hubbell
From the NYT article "Finds Spiral Nebulae Are Stellar Systems. Here's a quote"
"Confirmation of the view that spiral nebulae, which appear in the heavens as whirling clouds, are in reality distant stellar systems, or 'island universes', has been obtained by Dr. Edwin Hubbell of the Carnegie Institution's Mount Wilson Observatory, through investigations carried out with the observatory's powerful telescopes. The number of spiral nebulae the observatory officials have reported to the institution is very great, amounting to hundreds of thousands,..."

We had no winners, seems there was a lot of space between your ears too!

My favorite art questions are those that combine more than one type of art. This director not only won an Oscar for his classic children's short film, but he invented one of our most popular board games (1957). Name this notable director and game player. (And for extra stars his film and board game.)

Readers, IF you like these puzzles and would like to resend them to friends, post them on any newsgroup, or any website, please do so. The more the merrier! For tons of past quizzes go to, the musea website at musea.us or the Musea blog at musea.wordpress.com And don’t forget the music/videos at hunkasaurus.com http://www.Myspace.com/Musead(New Friends welcome) http://www.youtube.com/TomHendricksMusea (all my videos)
