We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I am new to zines. Which means that up until a few months ago, I had no use for the US Mail system. After all, as a teenager I don't get bills, newsletters or any of the things my parents get. Once in a blue moon the library sent me a postcard reminding me about overdue fines that I was scared to pay for. But that was it.

But now? Mail is my favorite thing. I love getting home and finding a stack of envelopes with "Inertia" written across them. Mail brings magical things. Zines, letters and on one occasion: A bonnet. I love the United States Postal Service like never before.

I love envelopes.
I love stamps.
I love letters.
I love opening my mailbox
And above all...
I love getting zines!

Anyone share my love of mail?

I love getting mail too. I'm going to start writing letters to some of my fellow zinesters soon and maybe get some penpal relationships started up.

I've always enjoyed getting mail. Since email a lot of my friends who used to write me all the time never do. At this time, my dedicated snail mail givers and getters are my mom, brother, and friend Greg (Greg and I even swap mix-tapes every now and then). I enjoy snail mail just as much as I love taking pictures with film and listening to music on vinyl. <3

Finding this site has been wonderful and I'm enjoying my mailbox again :)

snail mail <3!! it's an obsession like no other! so much so i have frequented the counter of the post office more times than i'd care to admit for Q's re weight/postage buying up on stamps and envelopes, arguing over the size of hand made ones etc... since diving into trades!!! we miss human connection in this lifetime, and though it's a distant interaction, handwritten mail, it gives a similar warmth to our day, someone real, really wrote this/sent this to me. love it! will send you something else soon xx

ManDuh sent me this amazing bonnet that was made with a pattern from 1858. It's not like a bonnet that you imagine from on the prairie. Its knitted and blue and I am in love with it.

I can't wait for you letter!

Obviously yes, and I'm getting a letter off to you by Monday. :) (It's all written, but my printer isn't functioning right now, so I may have to find somewhere else to print it off or rewrite it.)
Mainly I'm commenting to ask this: bonnet? Please explain!
