a place for zinesters - writers and readers
i'm thinking about mini-zines this week.
i've never made one. but everytime i see one, i'm instantly in love. they are so cute. what's not to like? tiny little pocket sized bits o' goodness. i am going to build my first mini-zine by the end of this month. in fact, i am going to build my first, second and third mini-zine by the end of this month.
my dear friend matt insists that things should come in threes. more specifically, he states that e.p's should come in threes. so should the eating of granola bars. so, three mini-zines seems reasonable.
they are going to be a play on the hinterland who's who television spots. in case you don't watch canadian television and have no idea what i'm talking about: http://www.hww.ca
only... about the plastic bag, the pay phone, and the shopping cart. two endangered inanimate objects and one stupid thing on wheels.
i still have no idea what this series will be called. however, name or no name, i need something good to follow "i was thinking about having myself a mustache" which has become an overnight hit. speaking of "...mustache..." i got a note on etsy telling me that the grade 7 teacher who bought it was using it as an example in his class. amazing. i'm thrilled that my half-baked ideas and random quote collecting are paying off.
so mini-zines. the zine of the future?
the zine of right now for me anyway.
do you think its possible for me to release one paper based project each month in 2010? i think i just might try.
