I'm gonna be in Halifax from July 5th - 18th doing a zine residency at the
Roberts Street Social Centre; a list of all the 2010 residents and their projects, including a few friends of mine and other lovely folks, can be found
here. I'm nervous, of course, but excited as well. I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and was so surprised when I was accepted for a residency, that I actually thought it was a mistake. While I'm there, I'm gonna be working on the twentieth issue of
Telegram Ma'am, conducting a workshop & zine-making session on Mental Health & the Concept of Home, hanging out with some pretty wonderful folks, and generally having what I hope will be fantastically memorable adventures.
I've been having some pretty great mail days lately, but am not sure I'll have a chance to respond to many of my letters before I leave. I'll be spending a few days in Montreal with my sister before taking the seventeen-hour bus trip to Halifax. Obviously I won't be doing any zine trades for the next month or so, as a) I won't be home, and b) I can't afford to, but you are still very welcome to purchase zines and other goodies from my Etsy shop:
schoolformaps.etsy.com. Anything you buy now helps me out with the costs of travel and moving, and would be muchly appreciated. Everything will be sent out once I have returned.
On that note, I hope everybody has a wonderful summer; I know I will.
