just finished mélange #2
. can't believe how much energy i've put into this one. it's nothing like what i pictured when i first started, and i'm tickled by what this might say about how the "creative process" works. thinking about where my head has been while making it is making me feel very tired. gonna sit on it for a bit, clear my mind. hope to have it in print and circulating in a couple of weeks.
most of my long-ish projects are at their end now. this zine is almost ready to be on paper, DJ NU and i hit a big milestone with musics
, indoor football season is nearly over (finals soon - eek!) - i'm at a bit of a loss for what to do next. maybe that means it's time for a break - recuperate, recharge. we'll see. i'm getting the fidgets already.
got a couple of neat little zines in the post last week. first was simon gray: 2008 - very wordy, you can tell this guy is a writer. had some interesting stories in there, and he hinted that his style had changed since his 2006 issue. made me curious. if anyone's got a copy of 2006, fancy trading for... hmm, don't know what to trade for, but i'll find you a zine and some stickers for shits & giggles. :)
the other was pieces and pieces
by the chick from electrichaos.etsy.com
. touched my heart, this one did. the writing isn't top notch, but it's very plain & honest (how i like it), visuals are cute, the sentiment is sweet, and as an overall piece, it impressed me a lot. i'd recommend this to everyone if i hadn't picked up the last copy from her etsy shop - sorry guys! this is going in my personal collection too. :)
