a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Last Saturday I went to DC Zinefest and really enjoyed the zines and comics that I bought. I even got a free owl sticker. Overall, the zines were delightful and I'd love to share them and read others. I wish there was a zine library nearby that I could donate to and also peruse. In any case, I may post my zines here to see if people want to trade with me (unless I get involved in the +1 Traveling Trade group in which case I'll just post some).
In addition to great zines, what worked is that I bought zines that I liked, and not ones that I "should" like. I also had a little more spare change than I did when I first went to a zinefest in SF a few years ago. Something clicked this time, and I was giddy with the idea that anyone can publish their thoughts in paper and ink.
Other highlights of zinefest were workshops on doll-making, watercolor splotch monsters, and organizing a zinefest.
