a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Hello all, I've been placed on the roster to help save WeMakeZines. @Quasifesto is the project leader.
Myself, I own my own webserver and hope to host the new WMZ or help in any way I can to deploy/design/etc the new site. I have a background in websites going back to 1998 and I've hosted my own site (and friends') on and off for at least a decade. I'm a linux nerd and my website platform of choice is Wordpress. I worked in IT for 7 years before taking a break to raise my two sons. My site is http://darkroomist.com ;
@Quasifesto has had traumatic tragedy befall his school and recommended those on the advance list prepare some ideas for discussion while he takes a few days to process the events. My thoughts are with him and I wish our project leader the best.
If you would like to help, the current admin, of WMZ, recommends sending @Quasifesto your email address as this collaboration will be handled through online productivity platforms.
Like @Quasifesto asked, I'm collecting and refining my thoughts on what to do, how to proceed, decisions that need to be made and the like. I look forward to being a productive part of our new incarnation. We'll definitely need to hit the ground running!
I know there's some worry and anxiety around what's to come. While I haven't yet met my team mates, let me assure you I'm confident that this is not the end of WMZ. There is a team committed to building a home for zinesters. I'm actually very excited about helping to create a new online epicentre for this vibrant community. (if you couldn't tell)
Stay Tuned, something awesome is about to happen!
