a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I am a new member of We Make Zines, and am starting up a new (hopefully regular) zine called Manifesto. The zine is essentially going to be full of articles, opinion pieces, interviews, non fiction, rants, art, true stories and other writing pieces which express what you feel about the world. I'm looking to launch the first issue in the middle of March, and am looking for people to contribute.
In regards to specifics:
* I'm looking for pieces that are no longer than 2500 words. You can submit an article that is short (under 500 words), if you feel you can get your message of the article or piece across in those amount of words.
* I'm not looking for any writing about any particular subject (although we may focus on particular themes down the track). Feel free to write about what is important to you!
* I'm also pretty keen on including as much artworks as possible in the zine. Feel free to send in your best work that you think will work on a black and white, photocopied zine.
* NO fiction - sorry, but I kind of want to focus on real stories, articles and opinion pieces.
A little bit about me - My name is Philippe Perez, and I am based in Melbourne, Australia. I write for two blogs - Scattered Locality (http://www.scatteredlocality.com) is a blog on Australian music, and Little Perceptions (http://www.littleperceptions.com) is a less updated blog on other things. I have made a few zines for myself in the past, but this is my first ever foray into producing a zine as a long term thing on a regular basis. I also tweet at @p_perez
Submit your writing or any other questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking forward to meeting up with other zine makers through We Make Zines as well, so feel free to message me here as well if you'd like!
