We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Psionic Plastic Joy #16

Tabloid sized zine from New York’s Jason Rodgers that tackles the internet and our dependence on it (Jason has no email etc and sees no need for it), throws up some great mail art, conspiracy theories, cut and pasted words, theories, lives and enough grit to make your head swirl.  Finishes with a review of the doco Harlan County USA and an interview with Reality Impaired recordings Stan Bowman that adds a nice final touch.  PPJ always makes my head spin while making me think. If I wasn’t such a bogan white boy stuck in my ways, this is a direction I’d love to explore more. I just don’t think I could do it the justice it deserves but I love receiving each issue.  Full of information, disinformation, graphix and addresses, An essential household item.

$2 (US) $3 (World) PO Box 8512 Albany NY 12208 USA

Blackguard #3

Comics and stories on the the theme of crime with some awesome art from the likes of Ryan Vella, Glenno, Ryder/Carter and Stratu amongst others – plus a stack of zine reviews and letters, all wrapped up in a full colour cover. Stratu is right $5 is cheap!!  Get it!!

Stuart Stratu PO Box 93 Paddington NSW 2021

I’m One Of An Odd Family #3 #4

A4 size 12 page zine from Monty Rubera, a young kid outta Melbourne who has musical taste well beyond his years!  #3 has Tortoise Shell Male and Hentai Cum Dragon plus the lowdown on the “Vaginal Phonogram” – a single copy pressing of vaginal field recordings!  Great cover art from Lee Ann Holland tops it all off. #4 has Goldzfield, Scissorshock plus reviews.  This short, sharp format works beautifully and makes even an old fart like me want to check out the music.

And the boy runs a distro too! http://etzinedistro.blogspot.com/

Darlene Rock’n’Roll Fanzine #4

Another mini zine (popular in the US it seems!) this one all about the joys of rock and fucking roll! Kicking off with Eddie’s personal look back at his journey from Elvis to Napalm Death, his musical tastes growing, changing as he gets older, he’s almost apologetic at his lack of knowledge but he shouldn’t be… hell, no one can keep up with it all and anyway, the fucker then throws in pieces on Zeke, Andrew WK and Javelina so he ain’t doing too bad in the knowledge stakes!  Great art throughout and a real personal touch make for a sweet though too short read!  Trades more than welcome

Eddie Spaghetti PO Box 3331 Hayden ID 83835 USA

Butt Rag #8

Killer art from the likes of Dexter Cockburn and Hugo dance cheek to cheek with cut’n’paste bootys, toilets, trashy art and yr own sheet of shithouse paper.  Damn near the perfect porcelain poetry.

Send money.  You will feel cleansed.  Ms. Jaimie M Hashey Apt 311 4210 Red River St Austin TX 78751-4344 USA
