Foxy Moron, I'm glad you liked the post and the story.  The Drabblecast podcasts are consistently great.

Yikes!  I just read the synopsis of "Fido".  That is profoundly wierd, but it does champion the power of love overcoming all barriers.  I really find zombies repellent, so I don't think I'll see the movie, but I'm glad that it works for the two of you.  It kind of reminds me of a song:

And I said, "What about that zombie movie Fido?"
She said, "I think I remember the film"
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got"

Some folks have "Breakfast at Tiffany's", others have "Fido", and love makes the the whole thing work.  It is a beautiful thing.

@Not Broadcast: I LOVED the postcard that you sent! I got to listen to the story on the way to the post office! The story was perfect length for the bike ride! I liked the story very much, and I have been thinking about it since I heard it!

When I look at my profile pic it reminds me of my boyfriend and I together. I think of the zombie as a positive and the reason why the girl is smiling. (He's close enough that he would have already ate her if that were his goal) So, in a way, I guess he does bring life. Like the life of the party! The "Yummy" I feel is sexual and playful. Have you ever seen "Fido"? I kinda think of that (in a further down the story line kinda way)

 

On a side note:

I should say that my boyfriend is very much alive. Though most of the time I question if he really exists or if I am just making him up, it is only because he is perfect, and I thought perfection was impossible. (awh...mushy mushy)

Normally I find zombies disgusting, but your profile picture is hot!  It made me think of a picture I saw in the Atlantic.  It should be in your box tomorrow.  My missive also has a soundtrack.  Go to this link to hear it --> http://gardenstreet.org/drabblecastarchive/MP3Warehouse/index.html .  Click on “Episode 194”.  It might be the first time you truly empathize with a zombie.
Your profile picture is compelling, too, because of the girl’s evident pleasure.  Is the zombie a metaphor for the male sex, hungry and amoral?  Who is it that is saying “Yummy”?  And of course, the zombie's central conflict:  Does he bring death or life?  I'll be thinking that picture over for a while.
In the meantime, hope you like my postcard.

@Inertia-It's fun & easy. One of the easiest things I do from time to time is find a cool pic from a magazine or any type of picture, glue it to 6"x 4" piece of cardboard from a cereal type box and draw on it a little to make it my own. Kinda like the Postsecret idea.
