We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I haven't been here in a long time! Not since I first made Evil Flower #4. I think today I will scour We Make Zines, see what I have missed all this time.

A few months ago, at the end of my senior year I made a "zine" as an independent project. Every day for a month instead of going to class I went to the library and worked on this piece of crap that was about stage crew at my high school. It looked like a zine, it read like a zine, but it was nothing like making Evil Flower. It was not fun, it was painful and it was incredibly frustrating and I hated it.

So I kind of walked away from zines for a while, but now I am back because I had a dream last night that I was cleaning my room and found stacks of zines I had never read. I want to read those zines, or at least some new ones. So I am looking for trades. Anyone reading this and is interested in a trade hit me up!

Also I am no longer going by Inertia. I know that is weird and kind of confusing, but Inertia was a lie and I want to tell the truth. My real name is Becky. Hi.

Hey Becky! I'd be up for a trade. You can check out my zines at http://createorperishshop.etsy.com -- let me know what you're interested in and I'll leave it up to you to send whatever you think sounds good in return. :)  barcadia@gmail.com

And I appreciate zines from older zinesters. I would love to trade with you. My zines are all pretty short, so if yours are longer I can send you however many will make it fair. Email me at inertiaendshere@gmail.com and we will trade addresses.

My Ken Chronicles contain stories & photos pertaining to everything in my day-to-day life or past: my travels; hobbies (collecting comics, old maps, old letters & post cards, Americana, etc.); reviews of zines, books, music (old & new), movies, tv; misc. anecdotes; "how to" articles; my views on current events, political issues, etc.; health issues... pretty much anything that crosses my mind. Every issue is different so not every subject is in each one. I produced an APA for 11 years with a dozen other members & now doing my own zine for another 5. Although I'm obviously older than you, I still appreciate reading perzines from younger zinesters on diversified topics (like yours).

My zines so far have been pretty upbeat with recurring themes of my chronic illness, sexual orientation and silly teenage troubles. I'm pretty new to zines and have been finding mistakes as I reread, but I think I get better with every issue. What are your zines about?

Hi, Becky. I produce the Ken Chronicles, a perzine, and issue 20 is nearly ready. If you're interested in trading, what's your zine about?
