We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Poems Written in Early November.
Find one you like - let me know.
The first is my favorite, but also note how passionate the work of St. Augustine is. Even this chapter of his biography really makes the middle ages come alive. The verse is ALMOST word for word of the translation of the text.
BTW The Victorian is red brick! - Tom

The little girl
was poor and yet
glad for the locket
around her neck
Confessions of St. Augustine (Book 3 - first lines)
Turned into an original poem

'My soul was sick
and wasted with sores
It desired to be scraped
by sensual things.'

To Carthage I came where a cauldron of unholy
loves bubbled up all round me.
I loved not as yet, yet I loved to love
with a hidden want I abhorred myself .
I searched about for something to love,
In love with loving, and hating security
and a way not beset with snares.
Far and wide
the wind blows dust
we close our eyes
until it stops
There's an apple in the chapel the size
of a large hippopotamus.
And every clue in the room leads to
that Bowler hatted dadaist!
Imagine the Moon
with trillions of thin,
sallying forth,
fingers of massaging
filaments of light
Deep under the sea
I saw the Victorian,
a mountain sized house
with endless gables,
roofs, and bump outs,
and windows, and towers.
Who lived inside?
Such a mysterious dwelling.
The bubbles from my sea lung
fled to the surface.
I looked for a door
and found an ornate arch.
Beneath a tunnel -
yet no water dare enter.
I pushed through the wall
through the sea water curtain
and dropped to the ground
with a echoing thud.
Thus began the
"Mystery of the Victorian!"

A book is artificial intelligence.

Time to put the roll back in rock. Roll is the grease in the machine.

People who live in a rock garden, shouldn't wear glasses.

Real fashion is the clothes you wear while designing clothes!
