The First Motion;
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."
Let us for our purposes understand God as a semantic placeholder for the entirety of existence. Now, Think of a Red Car. From the moment there was nothing in your mind to the moment a red car drove into your imagination, you have captured the power of God to separate light from dark. This is the spark of the First Motion!!! You can yourself become the unmoved mover of St. Thomas Aquinas' Quinque viæ.(The Five Ways) This is what creation and creativity has the power to do. From what was no-thing, comes both nothing and something, therefore all things are contained within no-thing. The human imagination is the only apparatus which, verifyable by experience, can create both a thing, and not_the-thing, from absolute vacuousness. The human imagination is our link to the Genesis of the Universe, and to our own innate sense of destiny.
To be Creative is to be a God. To imagine is to take zero and create a duality. 0=2 is the answer to the Riddle of the Universe! Winding and reeling philosophy while powerful exercises for our intellectual capacity in the end can only contort and confound us, where imagination gives us empiracle proof of our own Godhood. We may discuss ideas, but the idea must come forth first. "nothing can be reduced from potentiality to actuality, except by something in a state of actuality. Thus that which is actually hot, as fire, makes wood, which is potentially hot, to be actually hot, and thereby moves and changes it."-Argument of the Unmoved Mover.
Now we place our red car into the inferno of our imagination, and it burns. The ashes give rise to the pheonix of realization, in our imagination we take vacuousness and pull out both no concept and concept, then we as conscious beings can decide to apply the Will required to bring that piece of creativity into manifestation.
There is a state of being called “aporia,” meaning “pathlessness.” A person in this state drifts through life, they have no direction or current in their daily endeavors. We often encounter this pathless individual who wakes up, goes to work, comes home, eats, and engages in mindlessness for several hours until they sleep and repeat. The purpose of each day is to last until it becomes the next. These people do not live their lives, but merely exist so that one day they may die. This is TOTAL pathlessness! The power of the imagination, and creation, is one of the very few things that any person can use to break this disgusting cycle. This wash-rinse-repeat of mediocre existence. Go often to the Temple of Artistry in your Mind for weeds soon choke the Unused Path!
Create Something! Take a hold of your own Universe and exert your Will upon it. Change something in your life every day. Our collective culture is dying of mediocrity, mundane entertainment, lack of vision, and general laziness. This is the task of the Creative, to become better than all of this. Rise above mere existence and have an effect on your own day, every day.
