POEMS
1.
Think of Job's
first child
and drink a toast
to the innocent
2.
When I'm naked
I'm embarrassed.
When I'm clothed
I itch.
3.
Here in an easy chair
I'm thinking of buildings.
Some need windows
more than others.
Airports have rows
with people looking out
ready to travel
beyond the clouds.
Others like churches
hold in the light
through opaque glass
high and narrow.
The view stays inside
collected around candles.
the flames flicker
and we look within.
4.
winter
night
ripe fruit in the trees
stars
5.
The flames flicker
and we look within
