We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Poems written the last of October 2010

Hurricane and Tornado
met on the shore
for the championship bout.
Round ONE went to land.
Round TWO went to sea.
Round THREE and they each
knocked the other out!
To test their mettle
they devised a game.
Each boy would shoot
ten arrows in a row.
The one that hits
the most stars wins.
Aliens loved to visit Earth
That was the planet of all their pets.
Then the last visit, with tears in their eyes,
they saw that all the dinosaurs had died.
The architect, Vitruvius
said that a building has three tests;
will it first keep standing up,
will it function for what it was built
and is there some delight in it.
a forest of ladders
in the orchard
lost boat
on the water
bobbing about
all a quiver
I dreamt
I awoke
I took a spider web,
turned it into a blueprint,
and built a harp.
