We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Poems written in late June  of 2011
[poem notes in brackets like this]
1.  [an awakening on the insect level]
now there comes
this cloudless night
and the newborn firefly
sees it's first Moon
2. [even the words leave a trail]
follow the trail
of the songs
of the birds
through the woods
3. [beware wordplay]
well well this is a bit queer
wherever I go I end up 'here'.
I start out from 'there' and leave where I've been
but end up 'here' where I started from!
4. [an orphan ?]
poor poor Frankenstein
never had much fun
never had a childhood
to think fondly of
he was born all made
grown in every part
yet there was something missing
something in his heart
pumping blood is good
it nourishes every cell
but to know a time and place
that's important as well.
5. [one of my vision poems]
they told me a fly was a bird
and the clock kept striking one ....
6. [I HATE when this happens]
aliens landed and marched to my door
and rang the bell 'ding dong!'
when I opened I saw little men
and a saucer parked on my lawn.
"Why oh why," exclaimed I
of all earthlings did you have to pick me?"
"Your neighbor next door said he wasn't the one
and you were the one to see.'"
Zoo's forget to list all their bacteria!
GUT theory found, but there are strings attached!
Anytime something good happens to me, I'm not there!
