POEMS
1 [For more on ideas for a revolution in art see http://tinyurl.com/38a5txu ]
Modern art
you've lost your way.
I'd rather see
a comic book,
fashion drawings,
or children's art,
an illustration,
or anything but
Modern art
you've lost your way!
2
The wave has edges but where do they go
when the wave unfurls, uncurls, and calms?
3 [Saluting the 30's pulp crime fighters]
Doc Savage knows about The Shadow
as if it was his own.
And Cranston knows of the Man of Bronze
and his group of friends.
They cut up Gotham like a cake
into night and day.
Doc and his men took dawn to dusk
and the Shade kept the night at bay.
4 [Here's an oldie from past years, to celebrate spring]
At first
one says,
"Look
a blossom!"
SAYINGS
If Atlas held up the Earth, who held up the Moon?
If you can add an edge to a Major 7th chord - which is so sweet sounding by itself - you get a deeper more bitter sweet sound that seems to me more profound.
On large cafe portions: This is enough to feed 5 healthy adults!
Test for bad art: Would the wall look better without it?
Sometimes when I'm finishing a portrait it seems like I've stopped adding paint, and am now putting on makeup.
