a place for zinesters - writers and readers
This zine took a long while to make. The writing was slow, the editing was slow, I moved house, then the cutting and pasting and scanning and printing, all of it was slower than I would have liked. But as they say, good things come to those who wait, right?
Pieces #6 is an 86-page, 1/4 size beast. I don't know if I want to ever make a zine this big again. The master was unwieldy. All in all though, I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
Filled with photos and stories about my first month commuting to a job in Chicago via the South Shore electric line from Indiana, this journalesque zine picks up where Pieces #5 left off in terms of change, and touches on human isolation, connectivity, and transient strangers.
If you are interested in a copy for yourself or distro consideration, it's available for $3 or even trade. Even trades don't just have to be zines. They can be a smaller zine with a letter, postcard, bookmark, photograph, or other interesting bits of paper.
