learning to leave a paper trail zine distro
paper trail distro carries personal/political zines on topics like reproductive health, mental health, parenting, illness, death, bicycles, traveling, d.i.y. skillsharing, cultural inquiry, queer & trans issues, sex work, anti-racism, feminist issues, &...you get the gist. feel free to send zines for considerations! i'm not interested in poetry, music zines, most comics, or anything racist, sexist, classist, transphobic, & such forth...but if you think you'd fit in, send zines to:
ciara xyerra
12 lincoln ave. #3

i added seven new items to the distro last month (& more are coming in everyday!):
culture slut#17/telegram ma'am #17 split zine between twin sisters, about finding out they have a secret older half-sister, changing their names in order to sever ties with their estranged father, the concept of "home," & more. very different but very personal zines.
dirty love #2 intimate personal zine about self-acceptance, recovering from christian fundamentalism, body love, queer pride, love, & youth mentoring. gorgeous construction with red acrdstock covers, fastened with tiny brads.
doctrinal expletives #4 badass personal/political zine with snarky & smart interrogations of green consumption, annoying crap "allies" do, the romanticization of the white working class, & a lot more. scathing & insightful.
love letters to monsters #2 my new perzine, about coming to terms with being an adult, a very unapolgetic abortion story, a critique of the cult of consent, five years organizing an annual skillshare conference, & more. very text-heavy with hand-colored covers.
motor city kitty #11 small personal zine about coming to terms with queer identity, a first attempt at a distance bike ride, friendship & more. charming illustrated cut & paste layout.
motor city kitty #12 more about queer identity & how the label "bisexual" just doesn't fit, giving up drinking, growing up wiccan, & a lot more. action-packed for its size.
olly olly oxenfree #4 a fantastically informative & instructive zine on how to play over a dozen different dice games. learn how to keep score, gambling etiquette, slang, & more!
also! chelsea from "nothing rhymes" zine did an
interview for the distro, all about knitting, her zine-making process, tabling at shows, crafting for social change, & more! click the link to see the interview archives!
& i'll be tabling the distro at two zine fairs this summer:
saturday, june 27 at the
new york zine fest at the brooklyn lyceum, 12-7pm.
friday & saturday, july 24 & 25 at the
portland zine symposium at portland state university.
