We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Corespondents- Ur (CD) ($10)- the perfect album for a good many situations- dinner parties, acid trips, movie sequences, road trips, and the like.
Inoculation (Chapbook) ($10)- Sarah Tavis' awesome new chapbook of experimental fiction. With musical accompaniment by Letters.
Loose Lips Sink Ships (Zine) ($2)- the recording of every kiss ever given.
Manners- Look Into Look Unto (7") ($6)- six songs of beautiful, dark, minimalist, indie-folk-esque gems.
Nadar (Zine) ($1)- a beautifully-made, short zine about being a swimming coach.
Rad Dad #17 (Zine) ($3)- In this issue, the anarchy issue, Olympia's own Sky Cosby interviews former Weather Underground-er Bill Ayers!
Shortandqueer #8 (Zine) ($2)- a pretty important story that can speak to people at all levels of understanding/dealing/allying with trans issues.
Shortandqueer #10 (Zine) ($2)- "The Reawakening of my Baseball Fandom" is awesome and made me look at sports through many different lenses.
Southern Skies- Doe Bay Sessions (CD) ($10)- broken down 4-track gems from Olympia's two best travel song writers.
VA- Summer Soul Vol 3 (Tape) ($3)- an hour of northern soul gems.

Ilse Content #7 (Zine) ($3)- amusing, engaging family portraits, beautifully illustrated.
Night Terror (Zine) ($3)- a look at night terrors from a personal, psychological, and historical perspective.

*Corespondents- Demon Mustache (off Ur)
*Jan Bradley- Please Mr DJ (off Summer Soul Vol 3)
*Poppet- Bird's the Word- our dear Poppet put out her first official release...and it's free!

*This month brought a lot of new websites from our friends: everybody's favorite zine, Funwater Awesome, now has a blog counterpart where you can indulge in more of Mr
Mandeville's great writing; newly-born/long-time-coming Portland
electronic label Dropping Gems opened their internet doors in the last month; and Southern Skies has made it so you can bypass myspace for at least one band.
*Our dear local zine librarian, Kelsey Smith, gave us a little write-up in the Library Journal's article on zine distros. She's the best.
*In more Funwater news, Funwater Awesome #2 (my personal favorite, though they're all great) got picked up by Microcosm! Congrats to our dear Mr Zach Mandeville on that one.
Until next month, JJ.
