a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Okay, one of these zines, "In-Between" is not new - I made it last year in October 2011. But I'm going to post a photo of it now since I neglected to before.
Also, a BRAND-NEW ZINE! It's called Minutiae No. 3, continuing my perzine serial of thoughts, observations, and illustrations of a quiet life. I finished it literally the day before the Richmond Zine Fest, which took place yesterday. I'm seeing a pattern here - one zine per year, finished before a zine fest. I wish I could do more than one a year, but truthfully they require so much time and attention that I must take at least 1-2 weeks of almost completely free time to complete one. and I usually only reserve that much time for a zine before a fest. ah well, i will keep working on it.
About Minutiae No. 3:
This perzine chronicles my life from mid-summer 2009 until that fall. I write about settling into Richmond and becoming re-immersed in creativity, raising a cat-child, attending a Purple Martin Festival, and other quiet moments and thoughts from my life. I also include a couple of poems and some drawings of objects found in alleys and around my house. This zine is typewritten using a 1964 Royal Safari typewriter (my new friend!) with some handwritten text as well.
16 pages with black and white illustrations photocopied onto a beigeish green paper with a pale green cardstock cover. This book is half-size (digest-size), measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2." I use recycled, acid-free paper.
Available for sale in my etsy shop, Sprout Head.
Here's a pic from the Richmond Zine Fest 2012. It was great fun, as usual. I bought/traded for a handful of great zines and met some really nice people. Yay for zines!
