Hello, my name is Jason T. Miles and I am a cartoonist.
I am writing to you today to make sure you are aware of my exciting new endeavor:
PROFANITY HILL
My goal for Profanity Hill is to provide both a portrait and marketplace of Seattle's zine community.
It is also my hope for Profanity Hill to be a gateway for interested people living outside the Seattle area.
Growing up in Seattle during the 90's, I became aware of zines and a much needed different way of life thanks to such zine outposts as the legendary
Fallout and
Confounded Books.
It is now 2010 and I am tired of wondering why it's difficult to find zines in Seattle?
Pop Quiz
Q: Where have all the Seattle zines/zinesters gone?
a. Nobody cares about zines anymore.
b. Blogs are the lazy version of zines.
c. Crafting.
d. Writing ad copy for Microsoft and or Amazon.com
e. They haven't gone anywhere as can be seen by the fine selection zines now available at
PROFANITY HILL.
Comments are welcomed and encouraged, as are submissions.
Thank you,
Jason T. Miles
