We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

If you’ve been toiling around my traps recently you may have been cajoled and accosted by me to do whatever-the-fuck-you-want to one page in a little zine-like scrapbook I’ve been creating and letting you create. The first book is nearly full. It’s full of things by (off the top of my head):

Simon Unwin (of the band, Intentions)
Jodie Brabin (of the Dep’t of Ageing)
Catman (of the zine, Krumpets, and the music Catman)
Dan Bolton (of that old band Faux Hawks)
Maddy Phelan (of Wollongong zine fame)
Dave Roche (writer of On Subbing)
Lizzie (of the band, They Kill & Eat People)
Natalie Von Catalie (of Licky the Cream)
& plenty more that don’t surface into my brains just right this minute.

Yesterday I took the brave move of heading off to Kinokuniya (where I’d purchased the first little book) and organised myself two more books. One is small and the other a little larger. Do you want to be involved in this neverending creation through destruction project? You can do whatever you want to ONE page but must not touch anyone else’s pages. You’ve gotta have respect for the project, a creative outlook and the willingness to create.

Oooh, exciting. I'd love that. What are you going to do with the notebooks at the end?

It's several physical notebooks (each varying in size and shape). Next time I'm in Melbourne I shall pop a copy into Sticky for you to have a go at and you can pass it along to someone else. It just needs to get back to me in a timely manner!

Hey Susy. Is this a physical notebook that is being passed around, or pages being compiled into a book? I may have read this wrong and missed it somehow. Either way it looks like something that'll be exciting to flick through! If there are any free pages down the line, I'd be happy to contribute.

xx Candace
