a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I have two weeks off instead of just the one week I normally get, so I've been very busy with art stuff and making zines.
I just got done with Impossibles #3, a perzine about growing up in a strict fundamentalist community. Over this first week of break, I started getting the cover and splashpages ready for Impossibles #4. It is going to be about my experiences being a black woman in America and everything that goes along with that. I'm really excited about this one because there's a lot to be said along those lines that I don't think a lot of people I know don't really have a chance to think about or discuss.
One good thing about sharing zines with people unacquainted with the format is that sometimes, they like the idea enough after you show them that they want to do one, too. My partner writes short stories and wanted to do something with a couple of them he had around, so I helped him make it into a zine! The name of the short story is "The Metacollector"- contact me if any of you are interested in this zine.
There's a lot of mailing I have to do, so that's all for now. If anyone is interested in any of these zines, drop me a line.
