We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

My first bit of writing in a mainstream mag

I've just had a live review published in a mainstream publication. A friend contacted me on tuesday. She used to write for our zine, Sun Zoom Spark, and it turns out she's now the deputy editor of the Scottish edition of The Big Issue (the weekly magazine sold by homeless vendors - they get 80p out of the £1.50 cost per issue). She wondered if I'd review the Franz Ferdinand / RoAR (Rock Against Racism) gig in a small town near here last night. So that was exciting and a bit nervewracking. I finally emailed my copy off to the appropriate folks at 4am. Got up again at 10.45 and it was already online!

Not sure when the print edition appears but I'll need to get hold of one or two of those for the old archives.
