We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I thought this would be a good place to keep a list of my freshly-started but swiftly-growing zine collection! :D

  • Anon #14
It's short but full of awesome art! Love it!!
  • August in Harveville
I want to go to an artists' retreat. Sigh. Someday!!
  • Best of Poet-in-the-Box
I love this concept! I want to find a box and sit in it and churn out silly poems too! Chantel, you RAWK!
  • Dressed in a Burlap Sack
Very well-written. Some might find it disturbing; I found it honest.
  • Emotions for Gummies
I love the gummie sketch centerfold! A fun piece of work!
  • The Iraq War Activity Book: Shock and Draw Edition
Looooooove it! My boyfriend and I did the madlibs and laughed 'til we cried!!!
  • Licking Stars Off Cielings -- Issues #1-2
Graphic, raw, and brutally honest. My favorite kind of perzine!
  • The Other Herald -- Vol. 2, Issue 12; Vol. 3, Issues 2-3
Absolutely crammed with reading material. Some great poems!
  • Poems for the Year
I enjoyed this one a lot! I loved watching the seasons change through the poems, and laughed at the longing for August in January, and conversely wishing for cool air in late summer. How true, how true...
  • Rewrite #3
Nice little perzine. There is one particular story about jokes that aren't funny that really resonated with me.
  • SHOE: A Personal History
I LOVE THIS ZINE. The drawings are fabulous and the history of the shoes is so much fun!!!
  • Through the Viewfinder: NYC #1
I simply adore her photography!! I need to get #2 as well!!!!

This is a great idea! I like the tiny reviews, enough to make me interested in several of these zines.

And I thank you sincerely for the kind words about my poems.

You should TOTALLY do Poet-in-the-Box. My box is pretty tall, maybe refrigerator size boxes taped together. (My friend KT made it.) It's just big enough to put a chair in it. There's a slot for people to put in a slip of paper with a poem idea written on it, then another slot where I slide out the finished poem.

Let me know if you have any questions or want more info.

Seriously! Kudos to you for starting your list early!

Lol I figure I better start while my collection is small... If I wait too long it will be too daunting of a task and I will never get motivated to do it! :P
