We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

It was a good first time for me at the Midwest Zine Fest in Champaign Urbana.  (Or, as craigslist calls it, "Chambana.")  The fest was on the Urbana side.  I drove down with friends Nicki and Meghan from SPOC -Self Publishers of Chicago, and they had a table.  I had my Junk Drawer table, which was actually two old card tables I brought.  Other Chicago writers making the trip included Dave, Dallas, and Georgi.  The event took place at the Independent Media Center, which is a great big space for DIY activities.  Its part of an old post office, which still has post office boxes, apparently.  The organizers called themselves Radical Librarians, and they were quite awesome.  Everyone was really nice, and there was free vegan lentil soup (compliments to the librarian cook).  It all made for a fine fest.
