ok... so i've been a bit slack in regards to giving the lowdown of my zine activity origins. first up - i hail from australia. i've resided in london town for nee on 5 years now, and wouldn't you know it the year that i decide i'm packing it in and hitting the road again i stumble upon this site and a network of uk zinesters! grrrr.
second up - i cannot spell. even though my current 9-5 working for the man job entails editing and grammer work, it just doesn't sit with me and i am forever making a million mistakes - to the point that it is now my style.
third up - an idea of the zines i've contributed too, and done myself (if i can remember). spine (music based, done whilst at university in gippsland valley victoria); aletoric 915 (a zine that featured cut & paste images); pony for now (primarily music based, now up to it's 4th issue - mind you the 3rd was about my travels in greenland); this is not a happy ending (a one off totally hand made zine focusing on uh-hmm... love); 842 (a zine put together by my household at the time)... and that's all i can remember.
i kind of got exposed to zines via my interaction with a melbourne non profit youth media organisation called express media. if memory serves, i contributed to a couple zines... one of them called milkbar. i also hsd the pleasure of assisting in the inaugral zine day 'cut it up' - a day dedicated to zine discussion, activities, etc. oh, and i also attended and assisted in the newcastle young writers festival... the memories...
so that's pretty much it... i try to write as much as possible; i like taking photographs of street art (hence my little icon), i have an unhealthy obsession with music; i'm working on my current zine which has yet to be titled in anticipation that i'll have it complete for the brighton zine fair; and i'm trying to become a little bit more pro-active in my zine activities (that is interacting with a wider community); and i'm toying with the idea of planning some of my travels around zine fairs ,etc... oh, and i've a few copies of pony for now - the greenland edition which i'm quite happy to send free/swap:)
my name is nat - i'm a zinester (who is also a mac;)
