a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Hi. I'm the co-editor of a new website, NEW POP LIT, nearing readiness here:
Our launch date is August 16. While we're looking for fun, sharp, or punchy short stories (the work of several zinesters under serious consideration), we also seek original artwork to illustrate such stories. As a former zinester, I want to give this new project authenticity and edge. As well as a zine-like sense of fun and excitement. The only place in this conformist society to find that is in the underground. (A print version will follow next year.)
What do we pay? Nothing! What we will do is give you credit and print a short bio, whether story or artwork. We will also include contributors as participants in the noise we'll be making, utilizing every tool known, including interviews, photos, youtube videos, quizzes and miscellaneous fun and games. One thing I've shownt in the past is the ability to make noise and obtain publicity for a project, as I did when fronting the Underground Literary Alliance last decade-- though this campaign will be somewhat milder, relying not on activism to make an impression-- but art. Dynamic and exciting art, literary and visual, designed to knock the comfortable reader out of his or her comfortable chair.
Are you bold enough to join this project?
If so, send us a note, or question, or story or artwork, to email@example.com.
