We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Just in today: A new issue of Shape & Situate! Which is one of the few zines we bring in from outside the U.S.. But it's just so good! We also got three new issues of the Olympia punk newsprint zine, Nuts. Which we've heard is huge in Japan. Go figure.

Shape & Situate: Posters of Inspirational European Women

"The most beautiful issue yet! 25 artists make mini-posters of the often hidden history of inspiring European women. Features posters of…Grace Darling, Margaret McMillan, Lucy Whitman, Gloria Fuertes, Zorras, Anneke Van Baalen, Elizabeth Fry, Annie Londonderry, Tove Jansson, Artemisia Gentileschi, The Raincoats, Ada Lovelace, Tessa Boffin, Hedy Lamarr, Jane Drew, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, Monique Wittig, Madge Gill, Catherine Of Aragon, Bryant & May Matchwomen, Amy Johnson, Marie Duval, Beryl Cook, Virginia Woolf, and Beverley Skeggs. Black and white illustrations throughout. Printed on recycled 100gsm paper, covers printed on 170gsm card. 34 pages, A5 size zine."

Nuts #6 (w/ Flexi Disc!)

"This issue comes with a free flexi disc! So cool. With music by Milk Music and Carrie Keith. Collen Dixon writes an amazing piece on her double life as queer organizer and male-dominated punk show goer. Broken Water is interviewed, John Root (Weird TV) shows his love of Hysterics. Red & Black say some words. Abby Ingram does some amazing collages. Cool art and photography throughout. 24 pages, legal size, on newsprint."

Nuts #8

"Milk Music tour journal. Interviews with Jean Nagai and White Wards. Kanako interviews Anna Mink. Show reviews. Photography. Art. Much more. Comes with a fold-out poster! 28 pages, legal size, on newsprint."

Nuts #9

"This issue comes as five full-size fold-out newsprint posters (punk McSweeney’s, anyone?). On the back of one is an awesome “secret history of Olympia girl punk” article by Tobi Vail! Which is a real treat."
