a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I realize that the zines I'll be talking about are not along the lines of many represented on this site. Our zine will be electronic only, a webzine, and probably not as "alternative" in content. Our content is academic, research based, and aims towards a professional aesthetic. This doesn't in any way eliminate creativity or art forms from the students' choices. Their webzines can be quite creative, in fact that is one of the criteria by which they are evaluated at the end of the semester.
This first week, my students began searching for research topics to work with for the semester. Finding a topic they can sustain for 16 weeks is a challenge for most of us. Once we get these topics selected, we'll begin organizing the whole into our class webzine. Then will come the design and the editing.
