We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Two things.
1. Jesus Christ Superzine #1 has released its second (revised) edition. Now, I know it's not common for zinesters to do (or at least announce) this, but Ariel isn't the most common of zinesters. Don't worry, it hasn't become a slick, glossy thing, just edited, added to, and a touch easier to read. Description: The second edition of Ariel Birks' fabulous zine is a 48-page exploration of her former life as an evangelical teen. Instructions on
how to play Christian, explaining the gos-pill, kissing and
relationships (or the lack thereof), Christian music, Jesus camp and
more. Nominated for 2009 Zine of the Year by the Utne Reader!
($3)
2. We started an Etsy shop! It's a little more focused towards handmade than the regular site (30 items to choose from, rather than 150), so might be nice for folks who are generally uninterested in wading through jewel-cased cd's. Here's the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/msvalerieparkdistro
Also, the Olympia arts collective we're a part of, Use Your Words, started one, too: http://www.etsy.com/shop/useyourwordspress
Check them out, if you have some time. Newsletter should (finally) be coming tomorrow. -JJ/MVP
