We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Is it really not that personal if i'm willing to print it..?

One dilemma over; another 16 present themselves!! but first, my SUCCESSFUL ruling out has led me to a decision, thanks to much good advice from fellow zinesters and a friendly shove from the hubby - i've concluded that before i can write in the now, i feel a necessary urge to push through a previous incomplete writing excerpts of sorts that was 6 or so yrs in the making.. it is for lack of better description 'my book'. i wrote in it when i felt like something must be said but the words escaped me at the crucial moment, or at times i needed to recall a moment of spontaneity or pleasure or else that i feared i may just forget if i didn't write down a quick word or too to go back to.. it became a personal outlet, almost a vice. my 'tash book' has been everywhere with me since gifted to me on my 18th bday, everyone that knows me, know of it, but no one has read it. Does this mean it is too personal? i don't think so, it's too far gone to be considered much else than a muddle of teenage based emotions running around in poor grammar upon page after page.. BUT it helped me then, and I feel it necessary now, to bring it out into the light and share it with those that care to glance it over. and then just as it comes down to the point of it all - age and circumstance, as it will be titled after a feature poem among the excerpts you will find in this work, is what it's all about. I have grown, and changed. adapted and reflected. this makes sense to me, and the next project too is now underway, which is actually more exciting for me as will be much deeper insight to a closer version of my current self... SO, watch this space! as to the copier i must roam....
